Story Hour sessions
last 45 minutes
Toddler Time
sessions
last 30 minutes.
We want this to be a positive experience
for you and your child,
to
inspire the
joy of reading.

Children who love to
read at an early age are better prepared when they start school.
This is a great opportunity for both
parents and children
to socialize!
Any questions, don't
hesitate to ask!

-
I plan each
Story Hour/Toddler Time session around a theme.
-
Any
story, fingerplay, poem, or felt story used is also based on this theme.
-
We open and close with a song and
these same songs are repeated each week.
-
I include in
each session a craft that relates to one of the stories or to the theme
in general.
-
Children make a craft at every
session.
For more information:
Please check
the Story Hour Bulletin Board in the Children's Room (end of
1st aisle, near the windows, facing the Picture Books.)
Weekly Story Hour/Toddler Time themes and other events will be posted
there.
For Story
Hour/Toddler Time
-
Caregivers
must accompany the child during Toddler Time
and oversee the child's behavior.
-
All toys should be left upstairs with a caregiver.
-
No
food or drink can be brought to the session (although we sometimes provide snacks along with the
theme of the event).
-
If possible, have your
child use the restroom before the session.
Parents
and Caregivers
-
I prefer that parents remain at the
library to be available for their child. If you do need to leave,
please let me know and be sure to make arrangements with your child.
-
If
your child (or child’s sibling) is sick and you
cannot attend Story Hour/Toddler Time, you do not need to call.
-
However, if you will not be returning to Story Hour/Toddler Time at all, for whatever
reason, we ask that you call to let us know.
Our
Cancellation Policy
-
We
will not meet during Scituate school vacations.
-
We will
cancel due to inclement weather whenever schools are closed, even if
the library opens.
