For Teachers
We hope this provides resources to help you and your students use
our library better. If you don't see what you're looking for or have
questions or suggestions, please contact us.
What we offer Booklists – We provide booklists on many subjects as well as subject guides, which are shelved in either the adult or children's reference sections. These will help students and parents find appropriate books for their age and level. If you have a specific subject in mind for a booklist, please let us know. School Reading Lists - School reading lists are kept at the Reference Desk and in the Children’s Room. Homework Assignment Alerts – If you’d like to tell us about an upcoming assignment, you can send us the information. Forms can be found on our web site at www.scituatelibrary.org/assignment_alert.htm. FAX, email or mail a copy. We will make the assignment available to students and will direct them to helpful resources. 10 Free Copies - A student is using a reference book for a school assignment, can copy up to 10 pages for free. Class Visits - Visits can be arranged in advance and will be tailored to your class. We can give a general tour, show them how to use the online catalog or teach the basics of good research for homework assignments using reference books and electronic resources. Library hours: Winter hours: Mon 1-8; Tues 10-8; Wed 1-8; Thur 10-8; Fri 1-5; Sat 10-4; Sun 1-4 Summer hours: Saturday 10-2; Sunday closed
